but it’s not about race right?

Woah

I just wish people could understand how this feels. When you are an endangered species. And everyday, you see one of your own picked off because of how they look. It’s equally so fuckin terrifying and infuriating.

His hands are constantly on my ass … whenever I get out the car I get a booty smack and that makes me feel amazing like he literally hugs and kisses my booty. Like I never was confident in my butt (I’m still not) but it’s nice to know its genuinely love.

fellas love the booty. caress the booty. let the booty know you care

"Electric Lady" - Janelle Monáe

Not only does this video make me miss college, it’s a breath of fresh air from all of the crap mainstream has been pushing on us lately. Take note that this is a video by a black woman featuring black people portraying college students in a positive environment, something mainstream entertainment is wholly against showing. People dwell on the fact that she used a Samsung watch and phone in the beginning of the video, but what they don’t tell you is the reason why they dwell on that fact. They dwell on it because it’s a way to keep you from talking about the fact that this is a video by a black woman featuring black people portraying college students in a positive environment, something mainstream entertainment is wholly against showing. Had this been Iggy Azalea or Taylor Swift, they would be called edgy and the video would be “like the best new thing ever.” But since it’s Janelle Monáe, to them it’s just a typical ghetto video. Nonetheless, one of my favorite videos by one of my favorite artists. Keep doing your thing, Ms. Monáe. I’m a fAndroid for life.
